Hi! I hope you can help me! I am an 18 year old female, I am 5'4 and I weigh 120 pounds. As I was growing up everytime I had a bowel movement I would have intense pain, almost pass out, get really dizzy, and sweaty. I still have that problem some times today. Also, with in the last months I have began to get an awful burning pain in my upper stomach. The pain will come and go; however, when it does come, it keeps me awake at night. Antacids have not helped this problem. I have been treated for acid reflux and it didnt help, at all. Now, I have a stabbing pain that varies from my left to right stomach. It is usually just decribed as "flank pain" that will go away. It hasn't. Also, on top of everything, for the most of my life I have been constipated, only having a bowel movement maybe twice a week. Recently, my bowel movements are very loose, and a light clay color. Please tell me what to do about all these crazy symptoms!! Thank you!!

First see your MD. In the meantime try adding fiber to your diet. Are you having trouble with urination also? Flank pain is usually a good sign that you may have a UTI. Cathy B.

Hi Michelle. Sorry for the rather late reply. I hope that you have already visited your doctor. Clay-colored stool could be caused by liver problems, gallstones, medications, cysts or could also be due to some congenital problems in the biliary system.

Michelle,

I would say that you should go to a Gastroenterologist for proper diagnosis and treatment. You could have several possible things going on with you and that is why I am saying for you to go visit a specialist.
