Hi Dr. Joshua...

I have been having symptoms such as twitching in various places, a little tingling in various places and a weird heat feeling in my feet even though they don't feel hot to the touch. I've also had internal trembling and a couple of experiences when my hands and legs tremble. I have no pain or muscle weakness, and basically I feel good. The symptoms are more annoying than anything else. I went to the Dr. who thinks it's anxiety, which I do have a history of, and now that I'm 43, this might be linked to perimenopause, but I am still having regular periods. All my blood work came back normal. I recently noticed that one side of my head towards the front has a larger bump than the other side in the same place. It feels like bone, and it may have been there for a while. Is this normal? Can your skull vary from side to side? I don't usually get headaches or anything, although I did experience a few weeks of dizziness which I thought was due to the heavy stress I was under at the time. I am mainly concerned because I'm not sure if this head thing is normal, or has something to do with the other symptoms. Also, I sometimes get floaters (but my vision is fine) and ringing in the ears. Mr Dr. does not think it's MS or any other serious neurological issue, but the discovery of this skull thing has me concerned.
Thanks so much for your time and input.

Dr. Joshua

The skull is not necessarily symmetrical, and it is not uncommon for people to discover a bump on the forehead, thinking it's something new, when it has in fact always been there. Rarely, a bump on the head can be a sign of a bone tumor or something else that needs treatment. So next time you see your doctor, ask him to evaluate the bump, to get peace of mind.
