Hey Dr. Joshua,

What a great idea! Not only do we finally get to put a face and voice to the man behind this site (or rather, men now -- welcome Dr. Sinuhe!), but it also adds a whole new dimension to the interaction. ;D

Personally, I can wait to see what's in store for future podcasts. I don't really have any suggestions for topics, but I hope you'll address some of the basics... prevalence of neuro problems, presentations, basic workup, what factors contribute to an aggressive or conservative treatment decision, recovery time/rehab, expected degree of improvement, etc... I know that will vary tremendously depending on the diagnosis, but some type of general introduction to neurology/neurosurgery would probably be beneficial to those of us on here without a medical or neuro background. Of course, I hope you'll also include some personal reflection like you have in your blog (specifially, your post A Career in Medicine comes to mind). Oh, and if it's possible, I for one would love to see some footage from surgery! I did some simple research neurosurgery for my thesis, but I'd imagine that doesn't even begin to compare with the sort of thing you see and do on a daily basis! 8)

Cheers,
Kay

Kay, thanks so much for your feedback and the encouragement. This whole website is a highly experimental venture, and the podcasts even more so. Your feedback is invaluable. In planning future podcasts, I want to specifically focus on the topics that are close to my heart, and also the topics that are interesting to the members of the forum and the users of my website. For that, I really need your ideas. Thanks again!

Sounds good to me. You mentioned that you and Dr. Sinuhe have big ideas for the podcasts, so all I can say is to start there with the topics close your hearts and I'm sure they'll exceed all expectations (but no pressure, lol) ;)

Specific topics that come to mind are the obvious brain tumors & cerebral aneurysms, Chiari I & II malformations, AVM's, epilepsy, surgical treatment of traumatic brain injuries and movement disorders (Parkinson's, Tourette's, etc), tethered cord syndrome, spina bifida.... but hey you name it, anything neuro and I'll be interested in it. My background is in visual neuroscience, so if you've had any cases in that area I for one would definitely be interested.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. Just wanted to let everyone know that you can now stream the shows from the site using an embedded MP3 player located in each podcast post. I know a lot of people dont like iTunes so hopefully thisll please.
