Hi Dr. Joshua,
I am a 32 year old male and have been on Efexor for about 4 years.
I am not depressed anymore and would like to give it go of getting off them.
They really feel like there stopping my emotions from fully acting- if that makes any sense. You know (cotton wool brain)
I am also on methadone, but reducing slowly.
Do you have any suggestions on a regime for gradually coming off antidepressants?

hi!

there must be an individualized regimen of antidepressant cessation, so it is best to see your doctor before stopping it. :)

hello...sounds like you have excellent improvement from your depression..voluntary weaning on your medications indicates that you are free from emotional disturbance..but before you do that consult your dr. first..meanwhile this link might offer some help...http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/antidepressant-withdrawal/AN01425

Hi Adikool,

Can you give us an update about your antidepressants and methadone? Bear in mind that antidepressants must be tapered slowly and cannot just ge abruptly discontinued. Follow your doctor's orders about this.

i don't think it's a good idea to abruptly stop from taking anti-depressants. you need to ask this from your doctor first.
