Chickenpox Vaccine

I am 17, and my 19 year old sister just caught chickenpox. We both had it when we were younger, but she apparently wasn't immune. I do not want to have it again, and thought about getting the chickenpox vaccine. But how quickly will it provide protection? Would it protect me from catching her chickenpox this week, or does it take longer? Thanks!
